I met Dotti’s sister Zoe a year ago while shooting her and her hubby at the great sand dunes national park in Colorado. She happened to mention her sister was looking for a wedding photographer and I remember saying without even letting a second go by that I would honored to shoot her Colorado wedding! Plus, I will take any excuse to shoot more in Colorado and explore more here. If you know me you know that mountains are by far my favorite place to be at in this world (close tie with the desert).
Dotti & Garrett’s love for each other is unreal. The whole day everyone was shedding tears (including me). Garrett could not wait until he could marry her and the love he showed for her that day was seriously so beautiful. I was looking at Eli with those remember our wedding day looks all throughout both of their vows. These two just wanted to focus on each other, their love, good food and a great time. Could not ask for a better wedding!
Also, little did I know it would be the last wedding before we adopted our son. We got a call 24 hours after we left this wedding for our son in LA. It was a crazy whirlwind of a trip but so stoked we got the news in Colorado one of my favorite places in the world. I remember vividly saying to our friends at the wedding that it could happen at any moment but also could take years. Who would have guessed it would have happened at 9pm on a Saturday night in Orange County. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought it would happen so fast but I am so very thankful it did!
