Kimi & Janarthan got engaged in Point Reyes so it was only fitting to shoot there. Their Point Reyes engagement session was amazing! We adventured from the beach to the meadows to the cypress trees. I hope you just love their love story! I know I do and cannot wait for their wedding this next year!

“We got engaged April of last year, while we were mountain biking along the coast of Point Reyes! This was the year where we had been doing long distance- I was doing grad school in San Diego and he started his big kid job in Santa Rosa. We had arranged for me to fly back home that weekend so that we could spend some time with his older brother Prasad and his now wife Kristin since time with them is precious due to crazy medical school schedules. We were riding around a bend overlooking the bay when I realized I couldn’t see Prasad and Kristin behind me anymore so I stopped and looked back, waiting to see if they’d come. I remember I was in the middle of trying to say something as I turned to face Janarthan again who was ahead of me, only to see Janarthan on his knees with the ring! Jana… I literally can’t even describe to you how undeniably, comically surprised I was- between the shock, excitement, and dumbfoundedness- I think I ended up just breaking down crying because I literally couldn’t handle haha. Prasad was actually able to get a pretty good shot of me mid-processing haha. Anyways that’s the proposal!

 

“The ring actually has a story of itself too- Lord knows I did not have my ish together to even have a semblance of a Pinterest board of engagement ring ideas- so that was all Janarthan! The ring was actually made by Sarkiz, their amazing family jeweler in Carmel who knew Janarthan’s grandmother. It was terribly cute getting to meet Sarkiz in person after the proposal and listening to how he recounted how Janarthan came in with a vision of being inspired by my finally pinpointing what my favorite shade of blue was after we had a long-ago date in La Jolla cove. So apparently he went in saying “her favorite blue is the the shade of the crest of a falling wave” and they designed something that made everything come together!”
