Music is a universal language. It makes us feel emotions on a wide spectrum and with so much music out there, how do narrow to find the perfect song? We’ll show you how to pick your wedding film song on Musicbed.com.
We have 3 concepts that will help you narrow down and find that perfect song for your highlight film, as well as a couple of examples, but let’s consider something first. Highlight films are exactly that, highlights of the day that tell a complete story. We capture moments throughout the day and the song can be that final piece that really bring things together. Always know that we are here to help and can provide a direct perspective to your day. Our goal is to have a song that every time you hear it, brings a smile to your face and reminds you of your wedding day.
This is something easily forgotten but your wedding location can be a big arrow toward what song feels right to your video. Was it an intimate setting or something more grand? Was it somewhere adventurous like a national park or something familiar like a family back yard? Was it a beautiful spring day or a snowy winter wonderland? While there are songs that literally mention locations, I like to simply get the idea of it instead and be a bit more subtle.
Here are a couple of examples:
Adventurous:
Backyard Wedding:
Magic To Me by The Tuesday Crew
Intimate:
She’s The Song by Nathan Angelo
2. What Kind Of Music Do You Like?
A simple concept, but your highlight video is exactly that, yours’. It should be authentic to you and your partner and can be the funnest part of the process. Select a genre and listen together while cooking, eating or simply sitting right next to each other. I’ve learned so much about my wife by the music she likes to listen to. I have also learned how music can help turn a bad day into a good one. Here are some examples in different genres:
Pop
Soul/R&B
If You Were The Rain by Stephen Day
Acoustic/Folk
Rest Of Our Lives by The Light The Heat
Electronic
3. Reflections Of The Day
When you look back at the day, what sticks out to you? Was it one of those weddings where you couldn’t wait to party or more of an emotional day surrounded by those you love the most? Was romance in the air filled with snuggles and kisses, or was it jokes and silly moments that made your day sweeter. One of the things we love most about capturing weddings is seeing how unique everyone expresses their love. Let it guide you in your choice. Here are a couple of examples:

Joyful:
Emotional:
