Eli and I started dating over 12 years ago. We met at a concert at a little white church. He was always the guy on stage playing music and I was always his biggest fan that admired him from afar. Finally, after some time our friend introduced us and since then we have been in each other lives. We love to play basketball as a family, hike, travel, eat a lot of Sol Food and garden together. We also love eating screamin mimis ice cream as a family as our treat. (They have non dairy options yay!)
I always want to encourage others to ask couples who have gone before what they would have done differently. No wedding will be perfect, and it is all about love, however sometimes it is nice to know what could make the day even more special. Here is the top 5 things couples regret not having at their wedding.
Videography- Hands down the one thing I hear most is videography. Sadly, my sister is one of those couples I wish I would have encouraged more to hire a videographer to do a film. Photos are amazing, but a film of the day helps to relive the emotions of the day much more. There are just some things you will not remember unless it is on film. I love watching ours yearly and so does my son. It is a great way to help kids and grandkids see your day too! P.S. We now are a full time video and photo team so contact us to book the full team!
Time allotted to soak it all in- I had this on my wedding day and it was some of my favorite moments from the day. We had 5-10 min but we got to talk, look at the crowd from afar and say did we really just get married? It was surreal and beautiful all in one. If you want this talk to your planner or photographer about adding it to your timeline.
A coordinator to keep you on time for the day- For most weddings I am the coordinator and although I am happy to do it, I do recommend for bigger weddings to get a day of coordinator to make sure all vendors and whole bridal party run on time.
A private first look- Sometime family and friends are watching and you are not able to be truly alone together and to experience those raw emotions that a first look can bring out. I would encourage you or your photographer to ask for the first look time to be jus the two of you so you also have time to breathe and take it all in.
A full film of just the ceremony- This is something I wish we had, and why we offer it for our couples as an add on for videography. Nothing too fancy just a full video with audio of exactly how it was to show your whole family and generations to come. Honestly, we do not remember what we said in our vows and we wish we still had those.
