Sophie and Walker’s session was a dream come true for me. Not only was it in my favorite city of Mendocino, California but Walker & Sophie are some of the sweetest people I have ever met. I honestly can say this is my favorite Mendocino session yet! We bonded over the love for the early 2000’s music, food and adventures we have taken. We explored two different beaches and the cliffs of Mendocino during this session. Thank you guys for being willing to adventure all over town with me and hike down the cliffs with me in all white. Walker and I met on the very first day of our freshman year of college at Tufts University. He came to my dorm room to say hi to his high school friend from California, who happened to be my new roommate. We had a sweet conversation and went our separate ways. Shortly after Walker asked me on a date, but I wasn’t quite ready.

It took almost 4 years for us to truly cross paths again in our psychology class and then soon after in a dance group I decided to last minute join. Walker’s rugby team had been a part of this collective for years, but my two left feet were just looking for a new experience to round out my senior year. Sure enough, as the dance progressed towards the final show we made a last min partner swap and wound up together. One thing led to another and we started to see one another more, whether passing in the campus center or running into each another at the local bar, which happened to have a fantastic rock cover band.

One memorable evening, I was singing on stage having an amazing time with a few girlfriends and Walker and friends came into the bar. We ended up talking all night. Shortly after, Walker surprised asked me to our first real date on Valentine’s Day 2014 at Grafton St restaurant in Harvard Square. We spent the whole night talking about our interests, family and what we hoped our futures would hold. The rest is history :). Since then we have shared 4 apartments, 2 cities and have the sweetest pup together. 6 years after we started dating we embarked on a trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. After a long day of exploring temples, I couldn’t wait to get back to our hotel and kick up my feet. Walker had something different in mind. At Ta Keo temple in Angkor Wat he popped down on one knee, completely surprising me in pulling off the most beautiful engagement. We can’t wait to get married in 2021.
