This sweet elopement was on my birthday last year. When booking this Claire asked: Are you sure you want to work on your birthday? I immediately said shooting a dream elopement in my favorite place with the sweetest couple is like a birthday gift to me and it really was. They got married at High Desert Paradise and a surprise storm decided to hit mid ceremony. We all were soaked and laughing, it was such a memorable moment. After that we dried off inside, ate some yummy food that Claire made then headed outside when there was a break in the rain. (P.S. Claire also made her own cake and wedding dress!) We finished off the night dancing outside and they brought me out a birthday cake and made me blush. I was and still am so grateful for this weekend and the inspiration it brought me. The next day we went to Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and went up the tram to the top of the mountain. It was chilly and bright sunshine for a hike in the forrest with some of their favorite people. Alex and Claire story is similar to Eli and I’s. Alex has been through a lot with his type one diabetes and Claire has helped him through so much over the years. I have a heart disorder, among other disorders, that Eli has helped me through over the years as well. So naturally I felt connected to their story. The Palm Springs mountain top is one place they tried to go visit years ago, but at the top of the mountain Alex’s health prevented them from hiking out. Now years later, on his wedding weekend we were all able to hike it together and document truly them taking so many next steps in life together.
