For our 5 year wedding anniversary, Eli’s 30th birthday and our baby moon all in one we decided to go to Maui to reminisce our honeymoon then Kauai to explore somewhere new. This vacation did not disappoint. We ate a lot, slept a lot, ate some more, snorkeled, saw some good friends and explored new places. Just in case you plan to visit soon I will jot down what we loved to do and where we loved to eat below. Hope you enjoy viewing our Hawaii adventure!
Maui:
Lahaina Shores Airbnb: The view is stunning check it out below, also the bed is like a cloud and they had chocolates waiting for us. Need I say more?
Baya bowls: Very yummy smoothies and fruit bowls.
Choice Health Bar: Yummy smoothies and bowls. Favorite place in Maui for fresh healthy fruit smoothies is this place.
Odwalla juice truck: Did not taste super fresh it seemed more sugary then fresh but still yummy.
Leodas: Favorite place to eat at in Maui for me. Loved their Kale, cheese, chicken and veggie meat pie! Also, their chocolate pie is amazing too!
Cheeseburger in Paradise: Eli’s favorite place to eat at in Maui
The Gazebo: Best eggs Benedict ever!
Paia Fish Market: We loved the mahi mahi fish tacos. The full plate was a little much (very fried or fatty sides so we stuck to just the tacos)
South Maui Fish Company: Best fish tacos on the island in our opinion. They had amazing mango salsa too!
Local boys shaved ice in Lahaina is our go to for shaved ice in Maui.
Molokini & Turtle arches snorkel: If there is only one thing you can do we recommend this! It was some of the clearest water snorkeling in the world and was amazing!
Kauai
Kauai Shores Hotel: It has games on the ocean front, a place to eat, their own beach, pools and a hot tub. It was a super kid friendly hotel which means it will be great for kids when we have them. It has morning yoga classes and a lot more! We just came to relax and explore so we did not spend a ton of time here. Comparing it to our quiet mountain view cloud bed in Maui we much prefer that one but for a cheaper price we could not pass it up.
Places we visited:
Waimea Canyon State Park: Like the grand canyon so breathtaking!
Hanalei Bay: Most epic beach
Anni Beach: Best for snorkeling, the waves break out 40 feet out
Secret Falls
Shipwrecked beach
Kappa
Hanalei & Princeville
We traveled around most of the whole island so I just named our favorite places we went to.
Places we ate at:
Coconut fish cafe: Great fish and chips!
Kountry Kitchen: Yummy french toast and pancakes
Mermaids Cafe: I loved the spinach wrap tuna peanut wrap
JoJo’s shaved ice: My favorite place I have ever eaten at for this!
Fresh Shave: A healthier more fresh take on shaved ice so good!
Pono Market: Poke Bowls
Kappa Food Trucks (We ate at their once a month Sat. night market. There were over 40 places to choose from!)
Mermians: We had our one fancy anniversary dinner here and we shared a plate to save money. We ate tuna, goat cheese bread balls, veggies and truffle fries.
Coconut Cup Juice Bar and Cafe: Best smoothies and bowls ever! We went back almost daily it was that good and not too over priced. Way better than Mauis smoothies to me.
