This adventure in Rome was quite amazing but if I am being honest had its ups and downs. As soon as we got there one of our friends we were traveling with got pick-pocketed. I quickly learned how different this city was then the one I grew up seeing in the movies. (Yes I watched the Lizzie McGuire movie right before this trip). There were tanks on the streets and signs saying beware of pickpocketers everywhere. Normally this would not affect me that much but we just came from our hometown where fires devastated our neighborhood and tanks were present everywhere for security. I think it just gave me a little fear due to the circumstances but other than that we loved the city! All in all the pizza and gelato did win me over. We traveled all around the city and fully enjoyed seeing the historic landmarks all around the city. My favorite part of this trip was the nondairy chocolate gelato and the Trevi fountain. I loved visiting the city of Rome but next time I say I would go in the Summer when it’s a little warmer.
